Adam Stegeman is the Accountant at The Planning Council (TPC). Adam is an essential figure in maintaining the financial and operational health of TPC. He manages accounts receivable, preparing compliant claims and invoices for funding agencies. He is responsible for accounts payable, issuing payments to vendors and providers in adherence to contracts. He reconciles TPC bank and credit card statements to ensure audit readiness. Adam has important financial deadlines to meet every month. Therefore, it is vital that he receives complete and exact information in a timely manner.
Adam has almost 16 years of nonprofit experience. He worked at ForKids for nearly four years and at the Foodbank for 12 years. However, Adam joined us from the for-profit world after realizing how important it is to work for an organization that helps vulnerable populations. TPC is very fortunate to have him as a part of the team! Adam will not hesitate to jump into action whenever a need arises. He is steadfast and does the best job he can to support TPC staff from behind the scenes.
Adam believes in maintaining a clean, clutter-free, and organized work environment. This permits work to continue with ease and efficiency and enables him to provide others with quick answers when needed. What Adam likes about TPC is ALL his colleagues, including their dedication. TPC provides a culture where everyone speaks to one another upon seeing each other.
While away from the office, Adam enjoys playing pool and is in two bowling leagues. He is at the bowling alley two to three times a week and competes in tournaments four to six times a year. His highest score in a game of bowling is 278 and 702 in a tournament series (three games). Adam has proudly completed a 5K in under 30 minutes. His intentions are to pick up walking and running again after this year’s daylight savings time. A fun fact about Adam is that in the 1980s and 90s, he was a nationally ranked laser tag player.
