Deniese Fulgham, the Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Respite Care program has been with The Planning Council for 17 years. She has brought her ability to precisely match, verify, and correct data. As the Respite QAC, Deniese contacts an average of 60 Navy families each month to compare the respite services they have received with ChildCare of America’s log of respite care providers reported paid hours. The accuracy of these records are vital to the Respite Care program’s contract with CCoA to ensure that fraud is prevented. The results of these records are also imperative to determining the budget for the Respite Care program.

Deniese’s work philosophy is to work to the best of your ability with the knowledge you have while seeking out new knowledge to expand your understanding and to learn new things. Thank goodness TPC and the Respite Care team provide the ideal environment to meet Deniese’s needs. The Respite Care team holds monthly meetings for its members to share what is going on within their scope of work and the impact respite care is having on the Navy families. Similar to the Respite team, TPC holds monthly staff activities for relationship building that promote an environment where Deniese and others from various TPC programs can strike up a casual conversation with colleagues, rather than uttering a simple hello in passing.

It has been said before that TPC is like a family, offering an unconditional system of support. Professional and personal family are of the utmost importance to Deniese. Deniese has 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren (the youngest two call her Meemaw), and 5 great grandchildren. She enjoys engaging in her daughter’s cookouts at her house and loves working in the yard.

Let’s give a big team thank you to Deniese for all she has accomplished for TPC and continues to achieve in the future!
