Jacqueline Holley serves as the Respite Care Administrator – Family Services at The Planning Council. She supports our local Navy families by connecting them with a respite care provider suited to meet the unique needs of their family and their exceptional family member (child with special needs). Connecting families with the appropriate provider is a vital role in her job. She pays particular attention to ensuring the care delivered by the provider is the same care the family has committed to providing their child with special needs. Jacqueline is the cream of the crop when it comes to assessing the needs of families and skills of providers, and helping build trustworthy, safe connections.

When a connection is made and quality respite care is provided, the parents get to take a break. They are allotted time to do the little things in life we may take for granted from folding the laundry to going on a date with their spouse. Jacqueline maintains the relationship with 400 Navy families by keeping the lines of communication open, understanding their current situation, and tailoring her approach to satisfy their circumstances.

The work Jacqueline does is the epitome of The Planning Council’s mission to identify community needs, connect people with solutions, and improve lives. Her years of experience in the healthcare industry has taught her that empathy is the psychological capacity to understand and feel what another person is experiencing within their frame of reference. Her desire to help change the lives of others for the better is what fuels her soul.

Jacqueline resonates with the work culture at TPC where everyone is passionate about their work, and the work they do reflects their desire to do it well. Each day, Jacquleine aims to be a better version of herself with the goal of making her late parents proud and serving as a role model for her three daughters. One message she truly believes in is that “It is never too late to accomplish your goals.” Jacqueline is currently working on her PhD in Psychology with a focus on Organizational Behavior, which focuses on understanding workplace productivity factors and issues related to the physical and mental well-being of employees.

Jacqueline’s favorite color is purple, and she loves artwork that showcases women empowerment. A primary interest of Jacqueline’s are true stories and documentaries, particularly an underdog story – those who came back from a defeat, overcame challenges, and learned some life lessons along their journey. Although Jacqueline’s aura reads as a people-person (which she is), many would be surprised that she is a self-proclaimed introvert. However, she supports inclusion and diversity which makes it easy for her to adapt to any social situation.

The Planning Council will continue to foster a comfortable environment where Jacqueline and other staff can feel safe expressing themselves and where we show genuine interest in getting to know one another by initiating a conversation with a simple question.
