The Chesapeake community continues to heal after losing six lives in the tragic shooting at Walmart on Nov. 22. Like so many, The Planning Council felt a sense of helplessness following the mass shooting at the Chesapeake Walmart.
When we opened access to a fund to facilitate donations to help the families of victims directly, it was received widely. Through this website, The Planning Council will gather and disperse all donations equally to all ten families, the six victims that were murdered and the four victims that were injured. We are receiving no administrative fees for this effort. 100% of the funds go to the victims and their families.
The Planning Council’s mission is to identify community needs, connect people with solutions and improve lives. The donations collected in the Walmart Victim Fund IS that mission in action.
